Hi, I’m John Perkins.

I am a therapist and university professor who brings a thoughtful, grounded presence to therapy, shaped by both professional experience and lived insight.

What shapes my work?:

• Lived experience with trauma, divorce, and ADHD, informing a compassionate, real-world understanding of healing. Years of work as a unversity professor and published author, as well as a musician and mentor.

• Professional experience working abroad in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, including supporting refugees and culturally diverse communities.

• A belief that healing doesn’t require “pushing through,” but slowing down, making meaning, and reconnecting with existing strengths

A particular passion of my work is supporting divorced fathers as they navigate identity shifts, co-parenting challenges, grief, and rebuilding a sense of purpose after separation.

I work with adults navigating anxiety and depression, trauma and grief, divorce and separation, life transitions, cultural adjustment and spiritual discernment.

I see client In-person and virtually.

*I am completing advanced clinical training and practices under clinical supervision.”
