Hi, I’m Jess Degenhardt.

I didn’t always believe in therapy-especially after being court-ordered into it during my parents’ divorce. It felt awkward and unsafe. Years later, I realized the things I loved most; teaching, listening, advocating, and healing—could come together in one place. And maybe I could offer something different: a space that feels safe, intentional, and real. I consider it a sacred privilege to walk alongside clients through their darkest and most tender moments—a responsibility I hold with deep gratitude and will never take lightly. My hope is to be the kind of therapist I once needed—steady, compassionate, and real.

I work with individuals/families including children, teens and adults. My time in Russian orphanages deepened my love for working with children and strengthened my commitment to showing up for people in their most vulnerable seasons. I specialize in trauma, foster care, adoption, grief, and compassion fatigue. I am not afraid to sit with the hard stuff.

My clients say that I bring humor, patience, depth, and intentionality into the room. I offer a safe, grounded space and am open to integrating a Christian perspective if that’s important to you. If my approach resonates, I’d be honored to connect and find a time that works for you.

I offer virtual sessions at this time.
